I have been getting a lot of great feedback from all of you regarding the homemade dog treats. So here is another easy to make recipe for some Applesauce Peanut Butter biscuits that are Jaeger and Heidi's all time favorite.
Of course you can always substitute the flour with oats or non-wheat flour, just remember that the consistency of the dough may change and you may need to add more applesauce or water to make the dough so it can be rolled and cut.
Ingredients
-
3 cups whole wheat flour
-
2 cups quick-cook oats
-
1 cup peanut butter
-
1 cup unsweetened organic applesauce
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
¼ cup coconut oil
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees andcover 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients
-
Knead dough on a lightly floured surface.
-
Roll the dough to about ¼ inch thick and then cut into shapes with cookie cutters, or make small dough balls.
-
Place cookies on baking sheet
-
Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
-
Let cool completely and before serving.
- Store uneaten cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for
up to one week.
